I also have Google Drive access through the Linux Online Accounts, but it does not seem active until I click it through my file manager? I don't think the Online Accounts option provides automatic syncing either. I use "insync" for Google Drive which works well but is a paid for application. Unfortunately, Google does not yet provide their own Linux client.
